RDJ 22… What would you say?

By dlancaster

As we jammed out to “What would you say?” by Dave Matthews, we pumped up for our RDJ literary adventure. Your mission is to write a reflection about that adventure including the other aspects of the Gab Slab. Here are guiding questions that may help you if you find yourself stuck:
~ Which slides or bullets from the RDJ PP and/or update, did your group discuss?
~ Identify some or all of the books being read at your table? Did any of them sound interesting, why or why not?
~ Did you learn something new or did something click of which you struggled with previously? If so, why or why not?
~ How would you rate your understanding on a scale of 1 (not at all) to 10 (definitely got it) on the main idea and supporting detail info using the Science Chapter 8 material?
~ How did sharing and comparing the info from section 1 tool box help you? If it didn’t, why not?
~ How did setting up section 2 with your group work?
~ What would you change about today’s format, participation, other? Why?
~ Any improvements or suggestions for the future?

My group disscused the RDJ update one and we talked about abandoning a book and irony of a book that is all we got but, we got all the information we needed. For the notes we put who was in our group and what was the irony or what book they abanded . I dont have any suggestions and no changes in how we worked on it today. But I dont no if I did this right

It works, but I no, is know. You might want to add to your abandonment and irony discussion. What did you learn or find out? Who has abandoned books and why?

It’s the same for me as with Marjan. I’m not sure if our table did everything right. We talked about abandonment and irony at our table. I learned that everyone has abandond a book except for Jared. And we all have some kind of irony in our books. That is about how far our table got to. None of the books at my table sounded that interesting, I have already read Marjand (doesn’t count), Danny is in to Sci-Fi (I’m totally NOT), and Jared is reading about mythology (Not my favorite either). I kind or understand it I just had a really BLONDE moment that hour!! So that day I probabley understood it as a 4.5. And our table didn’t get to anything else.

    Love
    Erika

P.S. I really like that Wiki thing. It sounds fun. Oh yeah, Pretty Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaassssseeee try and find me a new nickname. I don’t really like my other one! Thanks! :-D :-D :-D

My group talked about Conflict and Character Types. One book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid. It sounds interesting because it deals with him trying to help other people, but I would not read it beacause I am already reading two books. I understand all of what we need to know for right now. The sciene part my group did not talk about. There are no improvements or suggestions.

I decided to talk about coflict and character developement. I don’t know any of the books being read at my table. I haven’t started A Great and Terrible Beauty yet and that sounds interesting because of the plot. When you explained what the book was about than it sounded really good. When they think that Gemma’s mom commited suicide that just made my eyes get wide. I learned that every book has conflict! Without conflict where is the FUN? Conflict is the problem that is usually solved. I get it so, 9. I didn’t get to share and compare but if I could it probably would have helped. I think I have told you this but I am just going say it again. I really don’t like the whole tool box thing. I really just don’t like it. For our RDJ do we do the regular or is this our RDJ?

They abonded their books because it wasn’t what they were looking for or they thought it was boring and no actionand mystery. I learned how discuss this type of information with a group.

We were talking about irony and I feel that I know this more than when I started because it seems easy to me now. I would rate my understanding a 8 because I still need a little practice.
